A conical car parking shade is a peaked fabric roof arranged over one or two parking bays, with modules that can repeat along a row. It is also known as a conical car parking shed, cone parking shade, conical tensile parking canopy or peaked car shade. Hospitals, offices, colleges, hotels, malls, housing societies and visitor car parks can use this arrangement. The cone layout follows the bay positions and the space needed to approach the covered parking.

ShadeCo India Private Limited is a conical car parking shade manufacturer and supplier in India. We design, fabricate, supply and install single-bay cones, two-bay cones, linked cone rows, back-to-back double-row cones and multi-peak visitor parking clusters. The fabric is PVC or PVDF-coated polyester for full rain cover, or HDPE shade net where only sun cover is needed. The parking plan helps determine how the individual cones connect along the row and where their supports can stand.

Planning starts with matching cones to bays. We first decide whether each cone covers one car or two, because that sets the cone size, the column spacing and how many gutters the row needs. Then we place columns on the lines between bays, so no post stands where a car door opens.

Why Choose a Conical Car Parking Shade

A conical car parking shade gives each bay its own peaked roof, so a row of parking looks planned rather than added. The rising fabric gives more headroom in the middle of the bay, where the car sits. Visitors notice the repeating peaks from the road, which suits hospitals, hotels and campuses.

The cone shape also handles rain well. Water runs down the fabric to the low corners, where gutters and downpipes on the shared columns take it away. Because the fabric is held tight in a curved shape, it stays firm in wind and does not flap like a flat sheet.

Types of Conical Car Parking Shades

The right cone layout depends on how many cars each cone should cover and how the bays are arranged.

Single-Bay Cone

One cone covers one car, with columns at the corners shared with the next bay. It gives the most peaks along a row and a strong visual rhythm.

Two-Bay Cone

A larger cone covers two cars side by side. It halves the number of peaks and gutters, and suits standard car rows.

Linked Cone Row

Cones join edge to edge along a full row of bays, with a valley gutter at each joint. The row reads as one continuous roof line.

Back-to-Back Double-Row Cones

Two rows of cones share a central column line, covering cars parked nose to nose. This saves one line of columns.

Multi-Peak Visitor Cluster

Cones of different heights cover a small visitor parking area near an entrance. For single cones over seating and plazas, see our conical tensile structures.

Custom Conical Parking Design: Cone Size, Column Spacing and Valley Gutters

Cone size follows the bay layout on site. A one-car cone needs closer columns, while a two-car cone spans wider and rises higher at the peak. We fix the bay grid first, then size each cone to cover the car body and the space where doors open.

Columns stand on the lines between bays, usually at cone corners, where they can carry two or four cones at once. Clear height at the low edges is set for the tallest vehicles that park. The peak ring is held high enough to keep the fabric well curved and tight.

Where cones meet, rain collects in a valley between them. We fit a valley gutter at each joint and run downpipes down the shared columns to a drain. Lights can be hung from the peak rings so the cones glow softly at night.

Roofing Options for Conical Car Parking Shades

A cone is a fabric shape, so tensile fabric suits it best. This table shows how the four common parking roofs compare for a conical layout.

Benefits of Conical Car Parking Shades

A conical car parking shade combines covered bays with a distinctive, orderly look.

  • Memorable Car Park: Repeating peaks make the parking easy to spot and remember.
  • Good Headroom: The roof rises over the middle of each car.
  • Orderly Bays: One cone per bay or pair keeps the layout clear.
  • Fewer Posts: Shared columns serve several cones at once.
  • Controlled Rainwater: Valley gutters lead water to drains, not onto cars.
  • Quiet in Wind: Curved, tensioned fabric does not flap.

Applications of Conical Car Parking Shades

Hospitals and hotels use conical shades over visitor and doctor parking near the entrance, where appearance matters. Colleges and offices cover long staff rows with linked cones. For other fabric parking roofs, see our car parking tensile structures.

Malls and showrooms place multi-peak clusters at the front for customer parking. Housing societies use two-bay cones over resident and visitor bays. For a single cone over seating or a plaza, see our conical tensile structures.

Conical Car Parking Shade Price in India: What Affects the Cost

The cost of a conical car parking shade depends mainly on the number of cones and whether each cone covers one car or two. One-car cones need more columns, rings and gutters for the same number of bays.

Fabric choice changes the figure: HDPE is the most economical, PVC sits in the middle and PVDF costs more but stays cleaner. Peak height, valley gutters, lighting, surface finish and footing work also affect the price.

For a quotation, share the number of bays, a photo or sketch of the parking layout, whether you want one or two cars per cone, your fabric choice and the location.

How We Design and Install a Conical Car Parking Shade

In a cone layout, every column and gutter is shared, so the bay grid is fixed before anything else.

  • Step 1 – Parking survey: We measure the bays and driving aisles, mark bay lines and check drains and underground services.
  • Step 2 – Cone layout: We agree one or two cars per cone, peak height, fabric colour and column positions on the bay lines.
  • Step 3 – Engineering: Columns, rings, fabric tension and footings are designed for the site wind load as per IS 875 (Part 3).
  • Step 4 – Fabrication: Columns, edge beams and peak rings are made and finished, and each cone is patterned and welded from fabric.
  • Step 5 – Installation: Footings and columns go in first, then the edge frames, cones and valley gutters are fitted bay by bay.
  • Step 6 – Handover: We check cone tension, clear height and gutter flow, and explain how to wash the fabric.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions - Conical Car Parking Shade

A conical car parking shade is a fabric roof that rises to a peak over one or two parking bays. Cones are repeated along a row, with columns on the bay lines. It gives rain or sun cover and a distinctive look.

The cost depends on the number of cones, one or two cars per cone, fabric, peak height, gutters and footings. HDPE costs least and PVDF most. ShadeCo India can prepare a quotation once it has the number of bays, photographs of the layout and the location.

PVC-coated polyester gives full rain cover at a moderate cost. PVDF-coated polyester also keeps out rain and has a dirt-resistant top coat. HDPE suits dry regions where only sun cover is needed.

Rain runs down each cone to its low corners. Where cones meet, a valley gutter collects it, and downpipes on the shared columns carry it to a drain.

The columns, edge beams and peak rings of a conical shade have an expected service life of 25–30 years with care. For conical parking, PVDF fabric is covered by a warranty of up to 10 years, subject to the manufacturer's terms.

A cone usually covers one car or two cars side by side. The choice depends on your bay layout and the look you want.

Conical parking shades are usually delivered in 3–6 weeks, depending on the number of cones and design. Cones are fitted bay by bay on site.

A conical shade gives a peaked, eye-catching roof with columns on the bay lines. A cantilever shed keeps the front of the bays fully open with columns at the back only. The choice depends on looks, layout and traffic.
