A tensile cabana structure is a small, private fabric shelter over a day bed or lounge seating, often with side curtains. It is also known as a fabric cabana, resort cabana, beach cabana, poolside cabana tent or tensile day-bed pavilion. It is used at resorts, beach clubs, hotel lawns, villa gardens, farmhouses and private lounges at clubs.
ShadeCo India Private Limited is a tensile cabana structure manufacturer and supplier in India. We design, fabricate, supply and install four-post cabanas, cantilever cabanas, beach cabanas, curtained privacy cabanas and cabana rows. Fabric options include PVC, PVDF and PTFE-coated fabric for rain cover and HDPE shade net for airy, sun-only cabanas.
Planning starts with the furniture inside. We size each cabana around its day bed, loungers or sofa set and the space guests need to walk in. Then we look at the ground, because lawn, deck and sand each need a different footing.

Why Choose a Tensile Cabana Structure
A tensile cabana structure gives guests a private, shaded space to relax, which a simple umbrella cannot. With curtains drawn, a cabana feels like a small outdoor room. Guests stay longer, order more and remember the experience.
For resorts and beach clubs, cabanas can also be rented by the day, adding a clear revenue line. Fabric roofs give a light, holiday look and are quick to install compared with built gazebos. They can be moved or re-planned when the layout changes.
Types of Tensile Cabana Structures
The right cabana depends on the furniture inside, the ground it stands on and how much privacy guests want.
Four-Post Cabana
Four posts carry a flat, peaked or curved fabric roof over a day bed or seating set. It is the classic resort cabana and suits lawns and decks.
Cantilever Cabana
Posts stand at the back, and the roof reaches forward over the seating. The front is open, giving guests a clear view of the pool, sea or lawn.
Beach Cabana
Designed to stand on sand with deeper footings or base frames. Steel and fittings are protected for salty sea air.
Curtained Privacy Cabana
Side and back curtains run on tracks, so guests can close the cabana for privacy or shade from low sun. Curtains tie back neatly when open.
Cabana Row
Several cabanas share a common frame or stand in a neat line along a pool or beach. For open shade over loungers without private cabanas, see our pool deck tensile canopies.
Custom Cabana Design: Day-Bed Sizing, Privacy Curtains and Sand or Lawn Footings
Each cabana is sized around its furniture, with room to walk around the day bed and place a side table. Roof height is set so the space feels airy, not cramped. The fabric overhang is extended on the sunny side.
Curtains make a cabana feel private. We fit tracks in the frame for side and back curtains, and choose fabrics that can be washed. Tie-backs keep curtains tidy when guests want an open view.
The ground decides the footing. On lawns we use concrete footings, on decks we use anchors after checking the slab, and on sand we use deeper footings or base frames. Lights, fans and charging points are routed through the posts.

Benefits of Tensile Cabana Structures
A cabana gives guests a private retreat outdoors and gives venues a space they can rent.
- Private Outdoor Space: Curtains turn the cabana into a small, quiet room.
- Paid Seating Option: Resorts and beach clubs can rent cabanas by the day.
- Comfort All Day: Shade, fans and charging points keep guests relaxed.
- Holiday Look: Light fabric and soft curtains suit resorts and villas.
- Fits Any Ground: Footings are chosen for lawn, deck or sand.
- Easy to Re-Plan: Cabanas can be moved or added as layouts change.
Applications of Tensile Cabana Structures
Resorts and hotels place cabanas around pools, on lawns and near spas. Beach clubs and coastal resorts line them along the sand. For larger open-sided garden shelters, see our gazebo tensile structures.
Villa and farmhouse owners add a cabana by the pool or in the garden for family time. Clubs and rooftop lounges use cabanas as private seating. Wedding venues use them as photo spots and lounge areas for guests.
Tensile Cabana Structure Price in India: What Affects the Cost
The cost of a tensile cabana structure depends mainly on its size, roof shape and the number of cabanas. A row of identical cabanas usually costs less per unit than single custom pieces.
Fabric type, curtains and tracks, lights, fans, finish and footing type change the figure. For cabanas, PTFE fabric costs the most and HDPE the least. Sand footings and coastal-grade protection add to the work.

How We Design and Install a Tensile Cabana Structure
A cabana is about comfort and privacy, so we design it around the guest experience first.
- Step 1 – Site visit: We study the site, ground type, sun and view, and note the furniture planned for each cabana.
- Step 2 – Design and samples: We propose shapes, sizes, roof and curtain fabrics, and colours, with samples to compare.
- Step 3 – Engineering: Posts, frame and footings are designed for the ground and the site wind load as per IS 875 (Part 3).
- Step 4 – Fabrication: Frames and curtain tracks are made and finished in our workshop, and roofs and curtains are stitched to size.
- Step 5 – Installation: Footings are set, frames erected, roofs tensioned and curtains, lights and fans fitted.
- Step 6 – Handover: We check curtains, fixings and drainage, and explain washing and seasonal care.
