A two wheeler parking shed is a low, long roof built over rows of motorcycles, scooters and bicycles to keep them out of sun and rain. It is also known as a two wheeler parking shade, bike parking shed, scooter shed or cycle stand shed. It is used at offices, factories, colleges, schools, hospitals, housing societies, malls and metro stations.
ShadeCo India Private Limited is a two wheeler parking shed manufacturer and supplier in India. We design, fabricate, supply and install single-row cantilever bike sheds, back-to-back double-row sheds, curved-roof scooter sheds, wall-side lean-to sheds and bike sheds with charging points. Roofs can be metal sheet, polycarbonate, PVC or PVDF tensile fabric, or HDPE shade net.
Planning starts with how many bikes will park and how riders move in and out. Two wheelers park in long, tight rows, so we lay out the row length, the depth of each slot and the aisle behind it. Then we set a low roof height that still lets riders sit up on their bikes while parking.

Why Choose a Two Wheeler Parking Shed
A two wheeler parking shed keeps bike seats, helmets and handlebars from getting too hot to touch in summer. Riders also find their vehicles dry after rain, which matters for staff and students who park all day. Covered rows protect paint and rubber parts from strong sun.
Because bikes are low and park close together, a two wheeler shed can be lower and lighter than a car shed. One long roof covers many vehicles on a small footprint. Neat rows under a roof also keep parking orderly at busy gates and entrances.
Types of Two Wheeler Parking Sheds
The right bike shed depends on how many two wheelers park, how the rows are arranged and the space available.
Single-Row Cantilever Bike Shed
Columns stand at the back of one row, and the roof reaches over the bikes. Riders roll in and out from the open front.
Back-to-Back Double-Row Shed
A central column line carries roofs on both sides, covering two rows of bikes parked front wheel to front wheel.
Curved-Roof Scooter Shed
A curved polycarbonate or fabric roof gives a light, modern look over long rows. It suits colleges and offices.
Wall-Side Lean-To Shed
The roof fixes to a boundary or building wall and slopes over the bikes to a row of posts. It uses wall space that is often left empty.
Bike Shed with Charging Points
Sockets on the columns let riders charge electric scooters while parked. Socket positions and power supply are agreed with the site's electrical team during design.
Custom Two Wheeler Shed Design: Row Length, Roof Height and Lighting
Row length follows the number of bikes and the space along a wall, boundary or path. Slot depth is set for both scooters and motorcycles, and the aisle behind leaves room to wheel bikes out. Columns are spaced so they do not fall in the middle of a slot.
Roof height is kept low for better cover from slanting rain, but high enough for a seated rider and a helmet. The front edge is set to stop driving rain from wetting the seats. Bike stands or wheel guides can be placed under the roof to keep rows straight.
Lighting is important, since many riders collect bikes after dark. Lights are fixed along the rafters to cover the whole row. Gutters run along the low edge and send rain away from the aisle.
Roofing Options for Two Wheeler Parking Sheds
Two wheeler sheds are low and long, so all four roofing types can work. The choice depends on light, heat and budget.
| Feature | Tensile Fabric | Polycarbonate | Metal Sheet | HDPE |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rain Cover | Full rain cover with PVC or PVDF | Full rain cover | Full rain cover | Sun cover only |
| Light Below | Soft light over the row | Bright row in the daytime | Dark; lights help even by day | Dappled light |
| Upkeep | Occasional washing | Periodic washing | Very low | Occasional washing |
| Relative Cost | Medium | Medium | Low to medium | Lowest |
| Best For | Campuses and offices wanting a modern look | Rows that should stay bright | Factories and stations with heavy daily use | Budget sun cover in dry regions |
Technical Specifications
These details are a general guide for facility managers, college administrators and society committees. The final row length, height and roofing are confirmed after a site visit.

Benefits of Two Wheeler Parking Sheds
A two wheeler parking shed keeps bikes and scooters shaded, dry and in orderly rows through the working or school day.
- Cool Bikes: Seats and handles stay comfortable in summer.
- Dry After Rain: Riders return to dry vehicles.
- Orderly Rows: Long covered rows keep parking neat.
- Small Footprint: Many bikes fit under one low roof.
- Safe at Night: Lighting helps riders find their bikes.
- Ready for E-Scooters: Charging points can be added on the columns.
Applications of Two Wheeler Parking Sheds
Offices, IT parks and factories build long bike sheds for staff who ride to work. Colleges, schools and coaching centres cover student scooter rows near the gate. For covered parking for cars on the same site, see our cantilever car parking sheds.
Hospitals shade bike parking for staff and visitors, and housing societies cover resident two wheeler rows. Malls and metro stations use long sheds near entrances. Larger fabric parking layouts are covered on our car parking tensile structures page.
Two Wheeler Parking Shed Price in India: What Affects the Cost
The cost of a two wheeler parking shed depends mainly on the row length and whether it covers one row or two. A back-to-back shed covers twice the bikes from one column line.
Roofing choice changes the figure: HDPE is the most economical, and metal sheet, polycarbonate and tensile fabric each need different rafters and fixings. Lighting, charging sockets, bike stands, gutters and finish also affect the price.

How We Design and Install a Two Wheeler Parking Shed
A bike shed is mostly about the row, so we plan slots, height and lighting before the frame.
- Step 1 – Site visit: We measure the area, count the bikes to be parked and check walls, drains and power points.
- Step 2 – Row layout: We propose single or double rows, roof height, roofing and lighting positions.
- Step 3 – Engineering: Columns, rafters and footings are designed for the site wind load as per IS 875 (Part 3).
- Step 4 – Fabrication: The frame is cut, welded and finished in our workshop, and roofing is cut to the row length.
- Step 5 – Installation: Footings and columns go in, then rafters, roofing, gutters, lights and any stands are fitted.
- Step 6 – Handover: We check rider headroom, lighting and gutters, and explain upkeep to the site team.
